Nollywood actress, Cossy Orjiakor has explained why she celebrated her birthday at the Lekki #EndSARS protest ground with protesters. 

The actress was one of the celebrities who came out to protest against the excessive abuse of human rights by the now defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS. 

Miss Orjiakor also celebrated her birthday on the streets of Lagos with protesters.

In an interview with The Punch, the controversial actress who is known for wearing dresses that exposes her cleavages exained that she celebrated her birthday at the protest ground so as to make people happy because the mood of the country was saturated with anger.

She said;

“I celebrated my birthday on the protest ground at Lekki (Lagos) because the mood of the country was saturated with bitterness and anger. Staying at home and seeing what was going on made me sad too. I just wanted to cheer people up. I know I made lots of guys happy at the protest ground. We had fun at the end of the day.

“Whether one is happy or unhappy, one would still die. We all want a new Nigeria. At the protests, I did not wear clothes that exposed me per se. I just wanted to celebrate my birthday with the protesters. Afterwards, I and some of my friends were hosted by another close friend.”

Claridan TV recalls that in August 2020, Orjiakor disclosed that she engaged to her German-based boyfriend, Abel Jürgen Wilhem.

She announced this via her official Instagram page on Thursday 6th of August, 2020, sharing a video of her engagement ceremony.

Nollywood Clem Ohameze attacked by hoodlums

Veteran Nollywood actor, Clem Ohameze was reportedly attacked by hoodlums on Thursday 22nd October.

This was disclosed by a Twitter user with the username @simply_kemkem on Saturday 24th October. 

The twitter user shared photos of the injured actor and his car which could be seen with a broken window.

According to the twitter user, the actor was also robbed of his phone and money in the attack which occurred in the capital of Akwa Ibom state, Uyo.

Popular Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh has lost her beloved daughter, Aladi Godgifts Ameh to the cold hands of death.

The star who is popular for her role in the series “The Johnson’s“ broke the sad news in a post she shared on her official instagram page on Tuesday 20th October 2020.

According to Ada, her daughter died in the early hours of Tuesday 20th October.

In this article I will be talking about 4 popular Nigerian celebrities yo probably didn’t know were drug addicts.

Drug addiction is one of the diseases that has eaten up the Nigerian entertainment industry, and it is one that is not easy to break free from.

Many Nigerian celebrities who were addicted to the substance started using it so as to boost their confidence, while some were were also pressured by their peers.

Breaking out of the addiction has never been an easy task, but those determined to make it out usually do and live a better life.

After a thorough study and research, here is a list of 4 Nigerian celebrities you probably didn’t know were drug addicts.

1. Tonto Dikeh:

Celebrated Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, in an interview with BBC Pidgin, made the revelation that she once battled with hard drugs. According to Tonto Dikeh, her addiction brought about some setbacks in her life.

Tonto Dikeh also said that she wants to take “Say No To Drugs” to the streets, and use her foundation to help in the rehabilitation of drug addicts because it is something that has set her back a lot in life.

2. Hanks Anuku:

During his active days in the Nollywood industry, celebrated actor, Hanks Anuku used to be one of the most sought-after Nigerian actors.

According to reports, Hanks couldn’t even work effectively because he was into drugs and it really affected him.

Years later, Hanks Anuku revealed that he has received God’s healing while hooking up to a program of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) which is pastored by Prophet T.B. Joshua. Hanks talked about how he wasn’t mentally stable for about seven years, as he announced that he has stopped drinking and smoking.

3. Toyin Abraham:

Another Nigerian celebrity who was a drug addict is Toyin Abraham. Despite her success in the Nigerian movie industry, Toyin Abraham once told her story of how she overcame cocaine addiction during the 2017 edition of Success Story Africa which was held in Lagos.

According to Toyin, she smoked a lot and didn’t even know she was looking horrible until she decided that she deserved a better life and changed for good.

4. Majek Fashek:

Majek Fashek drug addict

Late Nigerian singer, Majek Fashek was one of the most famous musicians in Nigeria in the early 90s. His music was apreciated worldwide and he was indeed really talented.

News of Fashek’s bankruptcy broke out in 2015 and at the same period of time, it was reported that he was admitted into a drug rehab centre in Abuja.

During this period, a picture of the popular musician made rounds in the media and one could easily tell looking at the picture that he needs immediate help. He however recovered and went back to music.

“I’m sorry for my actions” – Lil Frosh apologizes for beating up girlfriend

Former artiste of the Davido Music Worldwide, Lil Frosh has released a statement apologizing for his actions and condemning domestic violence.

Pictures of the singers battered girlfriend made rounds on the internet days ago after he beat her up and left bruises on her face.

This however touched many Nigerians who protested on social media against domestic violence and prompted David Adeleke popularly known as Davido to terminate his contract with the DMW Label.

Lil Frosh however didn’t say anything until yesterday 11th October.

He released a statement apologizing for his actions as he noted that they ate on top of the situation.

Nigerians drag Teni for referring to Erica as ‘Omo Igbo’, accuse her of being tribalistic (Video)

Nigerians have dragged celebrated singer, Teniola Apata popularly known as Teni, after she was seen in a video referring to disqualified Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Erica as ‘Omo Igbo’. 

Teni started trending on Twitter on Wednesday 23rd September, after she shared a video of her praying for Laycon in a sarcastic manner on social media. 

However, some Nigerians were not pleased by the video as she started with referring to Erica as ‘Omo Igbo’, which they found as a tribalistic statement.

As they took to the micro blogging platform to drag Teni, some other Nigerians tried defending her as some stated that there’s nothing wrong with referring to an Igbo girl as Omo Igbo. 

Nevertheless, the critics debated with her defenders, stating that it is not the phrase that is wrong but the context in which it was used.
