The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a young man identified as Ihebuzo Chris for alleged involvement in cyber stalking.
Chris was arrested recently in Benin City, Edo State, following a petition received by the anti-graft agency from the bank he reportedly hacked.
It was reported that Chris had bragged in a viral video about being in possession of some personal information and Biometric Verification Numbers (BVN) of over one thousand customers of the said bank.
Chris claimed to have obtained the informations after hacking into the bank’s data base from his personal computer.
Items recovered from the suspect at the time of his arrest, includes 12 blank ATM cards suspected to be for perpetration of his alleged criminal activity, a laptop computer, which he used to upload the viral video, and a printout of over two thousand bank details, including the BVN of customers of the bank.
EFCC officials said that the suspect will be arraigned to court immediately investigation into the matter is concluded.
