In this article, I’ll be talking about the five sons of Pete Edochie, Pete Edochie Children, Pete Edochie Family.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie (chief) popularly known as Okonkwo is one of the best Nollywood actors Nigeria has ever known. He came into limelight after he played the lead role in the movie “Things fall apart”, and since the he has been acting, gracing Nollywood with his character.
Pete Edochie is popular for the strict character he portrays in movies and he’s considered as a living legend in the Nigeria movie industry.

The veteran actor is from Enugu State, Nigeria and was born on the 7th of March, 1947.
He is a husband to Josephine Edochie, a father of six children(5 sons & a daughter), and a grandfather.

Uche Edochie is the second son the Nollywood legend. Just like his elder brother Leo, he is a successful businessman and not into the entertainment industry. For this reason, he is not famous like his Father.
He is also married with lovely kids.

He is a movie producer and actor who has been acting since 1995.

Linc has played roles in several Nollywood movies such as ”My Wicked Uncle”, Tears of Sacrifices and may more.

Gene Edochie is the fourth son of Pete Edochie, and just like the first and second son, he is a successful businessman and not into the entertainment industry.
He is also married with kids.

This one is like father like son.
Yul Edochie is the last son and the last child of his father, and the most popular among all sons.
Yul met prominence after playing a role in the block burster movie, Wind of Glory.
Yul Edochie was born on the 7th of January, 1982 and was named after popular Russian actor Yul Brynner. He got married at the age of 22.
Recently, Yul recalled how his father gave him the beaten of his life when he told him to open an electrical shop for him so he can stop going to school.

In this article I will be talking about 4 popular Nigerian celebrities yo probably didn’t know were drug addicts.

Drug addiction is one of the diseases that has eaten up the Nigerian entertainment industry, and it is one that is not easy to break free from.

Many Nigerian celebrities who were addicted to the substance started using it so as to boost their confidence, while some were were also pressured by their peers.

Breaking out of the addiction has never been an easy task, but those determined to make it out usually do and live a better life.

After a thorough study and research, here is a list of 4 Nigerian celebrities you probably didn’t know were drug addicts.

1. Tonto Dikeh:

Celebrated Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, in an interview with BBC Pidgin, made the revelation that she once battled with hard drugs. According to Tonto Dikeh, her addiction brought about some setbacks in her life.

Tonto Dikeh also said that she wants to take “Say No To Drugs” to the streets, and use her foundation to help in the rehabilitation of drug addicts because it is something that has set her back a lot in life.

2. Hanks Anuku:

During his active days in the Nollywood industry, celebrated actor, Hanks Anuku used to be one of the most sought-after Nigerian actors.

According to reports, Hanks couldn’t even work effectively because he was into drugs and it really affected him.

Years later, Hanks Anuku revealed that he has received God’s healing while hooking up to a program of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) which is pastored by Prophet T.B. Joshua. Hanks talked about how he wasn’t mentally stable for about seven years, as he announced that he has stopped drinking and smoking.

3. Toyin Abraham:

Another Nigerian celebrity who was a drug addict is Toyin Abraham. Despite her success in the Nigerian movie industry, Toyin Abraham once told her story of how she overcame cocaine addiction during the 2017 edition of Success Story Africa which was held in Lagos.

According to Toyin, she smoked a lot and didn’t even know she was looking horrible until she decided that she deserved a better life and changed for good.

4. Majek Fashek:

Late Nigerian singer, Majek Fashek was one of the most famous musicians in Nigeria in the early 90s. His music was apreciated worldwide and he was indeed really talented.

News of Fashek’s bankruptcy broke out in 2015 and at the same period of time, it was reported that he was admitted into a drug rehab centre in Abuja.

Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood has lost some of it’s practitioners for the past few years and today I’ll be sharing with you a list of seven Nollywood actors that died while filming on several movie location sets in Nigeria.

These seven Nollywood actors have graced our screen with their wonderful talents before they were called to glory.

1. Okwy Chukwujekwu:

Okwy Chukwujekwu death

In September 2018, Nollywood lost one of it’s fastest rising star actor and comedian, Okwy Chukwujekwu also known as Main Bossman.

Okwy Chukwujekwu died after having an asthma attack while filming on a movie location, and was buried a few weeks after his sudden death.

Main Bossman was regarded as one of the most talented comic actors in Nollywood, his physical appearance and behavior in movies always make viewers laugh.
Okwy features in comedy movies mostly and knows how to interpret his roles pretty well.

2. Alkali Matt:

Celebrated Nollywood actor, Alkali Matt, who is also known as Dareng, died while filming on set on the 24th of March 2020.

Dimbo Atiya who broke the news of his death on Facebook, said that Matt passed on around 7pm while he was filming on a set for an epic movie in a village near Keffi.

It was also alleged by controversial Nigerian journalist, Dr Kemi Olunloyo, that the actor died because he had contact with someone who tested positive for Coronavirus at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.

3. Ezeora Nelson Oluchukwu:

Nollywood star actor, Ezeora Nelson Oluchukwu who is popularly referred to as Nelson Gold, died on a set filming a movie.

It was reported that the actor slipped into a coma and died at the age of 26, while on a movie set. Nelson has featured in several blockbuster movies in Nollywood and he is known for playing the role of a royal prince.

4. Clem Onyeka:

The death of popular Nollywood actor, Clem Onyeka is what touched many Nigerians as he was an actor loved by all.

Clem was on his way to stardom when he passed away. Though he didn’t die on set, he was on his way to a movie set when he was shot by a stray bullet on the 14th of October 2014 in a crossfire clash between the Nigerian police force and some armed robbers in Asaba, Delta State.

It was gathered that all banks operating in Asaba closed down operation during the cross-fire between security operatives and armed robbers who attempted to hijack a bullion van containing billions of naira.
Clem Onyeka who was just 37 years old at that time was shot by a stray bullet along Summit Express, Asaba, Delta State, while police and armed robbers engaged in a gun battle.

5. Harley Akpo:

Another Nollywood actor who died on a movie set is Harley Akpo. Harley was not just an actor, he was also a movie director and a prolific script writer.
The popular actor died in a swimming pool in Asaba, Delta State, while filming in a movie location.

Harley’s death was reported by sun newspaper in 2019 and the report stated that he was in a movie location in Asaba, shooting a movie with other crew members when he fell into a swimming pool and drowned since he didn’t know how to swim.

6. J.T Tom West:

J.T Tom West is a popular Nollywood actor who died mysteriously in a car accident on the 28th of September 2006 in Lagos, Nigeria while filming an action thriller movie.

Tom West during his days in Nollywood was described as one of the most rugged actors in Nollywood, due to his role in action thriller movies.

He was buried and honored by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) as an Icon and a legend in the Nigerian movie industry. West died on his way back home from a movie location in a ghastly car accident, and his death was one that touched many Nigerians.

7. Dede One Day:

Celebrated Nollywood actor, Peter Onwuzurike Onyehidelam aka Dede One Day, is one of Nigeria’s best, most decorated and talent comic actor. Dede One Day is also a master of ceremony.

Dede One Day is originally from Umuagwuru Mbieri, a small village in Imo State. He died on the 14th of December 2015, after he slumped while performing at an event in Aba. Abia State.

Erhiga Agarivbie was born on the 30th of March, 1987, in Warri City, Delta State, Nigeria. He is the first child in a family of five children. Erigga grew up living with his mother in Warri City.

He grew up with his sister in a single parent family that was headed by his mother. The rapper is well-educated as he had completed primary and secondary school.

Growing up as a child, Erigga never dreamt of becoming a rapper. Rather, he wanted to become a professional basketball player. Erigga started playing basketball at a very young age, while he was still a secondary school student. He once played in the Milo Basketball Championship and was a player on the Delta State Basketball Team amongst others. Erigga was a very good basketball player then that nobody imagined he would leave his profession as a basketball player for music.

Nevertheless, Erigga started doing music after his secondary school education. According to him, he was inspired by rappers such as Eminem, 50 cent, Jarule, Rakim, Nas, Canibus and others.

Erigga ventured into doing music professionally in 2010, after doing some time in jail. The Warri rapper admitted to selling drugs and committing some other notorious crimes which landed him to jail. It was when he left jail he decided to leave crime completely, and exchange the drugs for the microphone.

Erigga, also known as Paper Boi and New Money, dropped his first singles ‘Jungle Party’ in 2002, long before he totally ventured into doing music professionally. In his first singles, Jungle Party, he rapped in English, but then realized that he can relate better with people when he raps in Pidgin English.

Growing up in the city of Warri has a huge influence in his music too. From rapping in Pidgin English, down to the message he passes through his music. Despite the fact that Erigga started doing music professionally in 2010, music has been a part of him from the onset. He was involved in local rap battles in Warri, Benin and Port Harcourt and have won severally.

Q1. When were you born?

Ans: I was born on the 23rd of September, 1991

Q2. Where are you from?

Ans: Am from Ikeduru Local Government Area, Imo State.

Q3. How long have you been doing music?

Ans: Since I was little but not professionally. Professionally, I have been doing music, for about 5years now.

Q4. What kind of music do you do?

Ans: Am a gospel minister, I love western kind of worship songs.

Q5. How did you find yourself doing music?

Ans: My dad is a music lover, back then while growing up, I remember following my dad to rehearsals, before later joined the teenage choir in the East, and I started taking the lead vocal at that time.

Q6. As a gospel artiste, what are some of the challenges you face?

Ans: The first challenge is that people sometimes see you as if you don’t really know what u are doing. Maybe because you are upcoming, your songs are just few, or because you haven’t ministered in some big events or church before.
See, it’s really hard to get someone to sponsor your production or band. I think they feel a lot of people are there already doing gospel songs.
Thanks, you see people criticizing your songs like you need to add this and that, your voice is too low and all that. Trying to get people to love your work is really hard, unlike secular artists.

Q7. How do you manage these challenges?

Ans: The same way I manage my business challenges, I believe God is in charge of all things, so when ever I see any challenge I put God first, and I overcome it without adding much stress.

Ans: Richygold

Q9. Why this name?

Ans: It’s a cut-out from my name, Recheal Ugo. My friends normally call me Richy Richy, so when I needed a stage name, my boss said to me “Richy you can just add gold to ur name”, I did and it worked.

Q10. What is your greatest achievement so far as a musician?

Ans: I used to be a shy person, but being on stage and ministering in church has given me that boldness. Secondly music has given me the opportunity to meet with some persons I think I can never meet one on one, on a normal grand.

Q11. What are your aspirations?

Ans: I aspire to reach out to the world through the gift God gave to me, I also aspire to win more souls to Christ, to put smile on the faces of people through my songs.
