About Dagrin’s life

The late Rapper was born in Ogun State Nigeria and completed his primary and secondary school education in Ogun State.
He attended Meiran community primary school, Roseille Nursery and Primary School, Meiran Community high school and Egbado College.
The popular rapper is an SSCE holder and he came to Lagos shortly after writing his SSCE examination to pursue a career in rap music.

Dagrin’s biography

While in Lagos, Dagrin lived in Alagbado, Lagos State.
He was able to carve out a niche for himself in the Nigerian music industry as he was the first known Yoruba rapper in Nigeria.

In 2010 he was nominated the best album of the year at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for his hit album “CEO”. He also had two other nominations in the same award, which included best rap act and best collaboration with vocals.

In 2010, he won two awards at the Hip Hop World Asard, Best Rap Album of the Year and Artist of the Year.

Death

Dagrin's biography

Dagrin was only 22 years old when he died. He died eight days after he was involved in a car accident in front of Alakara Police Station, off Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos.
He had a serious head injury from the accident and was admitted at Tai Solarin Hospital, Mushin before he was transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, (LUTH), where doctors made serious efforts to save his life but couldn’t.
The accident that claimed his life happened at about 2AM, April 14, 2010.

Burial

Dagrin's biography

Dagrin was buried at Yaba Cemetery, Lagos on the 30th of April 2010.
Candle light procession in his honor started from his house at Emmanuel Dada Street, off Bello Road, to Ojez, National Stadium, Surulere at about 6pm on Thursday, April 29, 2010.
His father’s speech at the candlelight ceremony was the rap he did to the song he was featured in by YQ, titled: ‘Efimile’.

Dagrin's biography

A film of his life entitled Ghetto Dreamz was released in April 2011 in his honor.
